Crashes during computing

Added by Albert Jan over 3 years ago

Processing always crashes computing QSM spherefollowing method. Until this step I can filter, cluster and segment the point cloud with SimpleTree plugin without problems. The same happens when I try to follow older ONF detection - here it crashes during the first step that is horizontal clustering. So I am not able to get any diameter results neither way.
Im trying now on my laptop and its not working neither the older Computree 3, which I was using with ONF plugin on more powerful desktop machine. The same happens on the second laptop we have. Could be happening for some simple reason?
Thanks, Jan

Try the filter by point size directly before the modelling. Kick out clouds smaller than 1000, if not works 5000, then 20 000 points. Post please if this solves. I am aware that my Modeling can crash with small clouds. Could not fix it until today.

Now I have 29 isolated trees. So running filter by cluster size obviously doesnt filter anything since every tree has lots of points. I have tried euclidian denoising on segmented scene with treshold 1000 points and CT crashes. Btw. beta versions of ST crashes immediately after launching the programme.
Theres attached image of scene that I am trying with.

Which Beta version crashes after launching CT? What OS you are using? Does it crash without any interaction?

If you can upload your scene and your script to process the scene I can look if I can fix. From the screenshot I cannot help. I can tell that the quality of the cloud is not the best and that also there seems to be a lot of computation errors.

Test out Beta 31 in respect to the euclidian clustering denoising crash please. Just added there a bugfix and maybe that was the one causing your problems with this step.

I have tried beta 31 and again it crashes on launch like all the betas. At last i was able to do QSM modelling with just 5m slice above ground with 135 trees. Modelling the whole segmented trees crashes. Is there another way of calculating DBH and height after segmentation?
Note that ONF processing isn’t working as well because CT crashes on horizontal slices clustering.
