CompuTree4 running OK on ubuntu16?
Probably a silly question.
I’m trying to run the new CompuTree4 on Ubuntu16.04.LTS following the same steps as with Computree3 on Ubuntu14.
I can’t see CompuTreeGui.sh among the extracted files. I was wondernig if the files from the new version need to be somehow merged with those from the old one.
Running the executable CompuTreeGui instead does launch CompuTree at the cost of taking all computing resources away and eventually collapsing and shutting down as soon as any data are loaded.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Désolé si la question est un peu trop basique.
Et un grand merci pour continuer le développement de la bête!
I didn’t find the CompuTreeGui.sh file either, but running the executable worked just fine for me! I’m running the latest LTS too. Which graphics driver are you running?

Salut Jean-Francois et merci pour ta reponse,
I’ve checked and it seems that I’m running the intel 915 drivers (driver=i915_bpo).
Does it ring a bell?
If you launch the executable from the command line and it crashes, an error message should be printed in your terminal. What does it say?

Does Computree crash when you load the point cloud ? It might be related to the issues #257 and #258 (http://rdinnovation.onf.fr/issues/257).

Hello Van Tho, re-salut Jean-François,
Yep, CompuTree crashes at the loading step. Indeed, you might be right, the error message in console is similar to those of issues #257 and #258 (sorry for not having checked before):
staticValueTypeToCategoryType unknown data type (ulong) ==⇒./ct_categories/abstract/ct_abstractcategory.h´
Aborted (core dumped)
A template instance was missing for unsigned long type causing the problem on 64-bit systems. This bug is fixed in the latest source code in the svn repository.
